In English 110 I have learned how to properly cite sources using in-text citations and a works cited page with MLA formatting. I have also learned how to fix sentence-level errors. In my significant writing piece, I included a works-cited page that showcases my ability to accurately give credit to the authors whose work I reference in my essay. For example, the following citation is an example of how I have learned to format citations correctly:

Mark, Boslough B. “We Must Protect U.S. Involvement in Scientific Knowledge.” APS News,

edited by Barrett H. Ripin Vol. 3 No. 3, March 1996

My writing piece also shows that I am able to reduce sentence-level errors; in my first draft, there were a few areas where the wording of my sentences was off and needed correcting. I was able to read through my draft and recognize what needed to be fixed so that everything made sense and that there were no mistakes. English 110 has helped me strengthen this skill.
