Over the course of the semester in English 110, I have learned how to make global and local revisions to my writing.  Early in the semester, I had trouble making global revisions and knowing how to organize my writing. One thing that helped me improve my writing was getting comfortable with the idea of making large changes.  One specific example of improvement on making global revisions to my writing is shown in my second essay about incorporating art in the science field. In the first draft of my essay, I had written a paragraph about getting people involved in science by using art, and followed it by a paragraph about art and science being too divided. These two paragraphs and their ideas did not flow together in the order they were in, To fix this, I added another paragraph about how art can instill empathy in us. These two ideas flowed together more fluently. Another global revision I made to my writing was adding more of my personal experience to it. This added a more concrete element to my essay which strengthened my claims and ideas. This shows that I am able to re-read my work and figure out what needs to be added and what can be removed. I feel that I have improved greatly in this area over the course of English 110.
